God does not normally knock you off your horse!

Father Nathan Long is one of the “younger” priests in the diocese. He was ordained a priest on May 10, 2008. Father Long, like most who respond favorably to God’s call to ordination or professed life, did not experience a lightning bolt message from God, instructing him to study for the priesthood.

Keith Pellerin thought his vocation was to serve people as a med tech in the service of the United States Air Force. He found that people were hurting in more than physical ways. He was soon recognized as the person who helped heal the emotional wounds of those in the military service.

A priest is called "diocesan" because he commits himself to serve the people of a particular geographic area, known as a diocese. The five civil parishes of Southwest Louisiana make up the Diocese of Lake Charles.
