LAKE CHARLES -- A new seminary burse for the Diocese of Lake Charles have recently been established in addition to the additional contribution to a current burse were made in the early days of the new year.
The interest earned on the investment of the funds aid in defraying the educational expenses of the men studying for the priesthood for the Diocese. There are now 61 burses amounting to $1,204,241.82.
The new burse was created by John and Dinah Bradford while Dr. and Mrs. David Buttross added a contribution to their previously established fund.
A seminary burse is a permanent fund set aside to provide income for the education and training of future priests.
