His Excellency, The Most Reverend Glen John Provost, D.D., Bishop of Lake Charles, has made the following appointments, effective July 1, 2010:



The Reverend Monsignor Charles Dubois has been given the title “Senior Priest.” Msgr. Dubois will remain Pastor of St. Theodore Parish in Moss Bluff, La.

The Reverend Timothy Goodly has been appointed Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Creole, La. and Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Cameron, La. for a term of six years.

The Reverend Monsignor Ronald Groth has been appointed Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Lake Charles, La. for a term of six years. As well, Msgr. Groth has been appointed Director of Development for the Diocese of Lake Charles.

The Reverend Andreas Kedati, SVD, has been appointed Pastor of St. Raphael Parish in Iowa, La., with the missions of St. Peter Claver in Iowa and St. Joseph in LeBleu Settlement, for a term of six years.

The Reverend Joseph McGrath has been appointed Pastor of St. Lawrence Parish in Raymond, La. for a term of six years.

The Reverend Celsius Offor has been appointed Pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Jennings, La. for a term of six years. Father Offor will remain Administrator of St. Joseph Parish in Welsh, La.

The Reverend Babasino Fernandes has been appointed Parochial Vicar of our Lady Help of Christians Parish in Jennings, La. for a term of three years.

The Reverend Nathan Long has been appointed Director of Continuing Formation of Priests and will remain Parochial Vicar of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Parish in Lake Charles, La.

The Reverend Don Piraro has been appointed “Director Emeritus” of Saint Charles Center. Father Piraro will continue in residence and service to the retreat center.

The Reverend Whitney Miller has been appointed Director of Saint Charles Center, with complete administrative supervision, for a term of six years. Father Miller will remain Secretary for the Ministry of Christian Formation and Director of Diocesan Counseling Services.

The Very Reverend Herbert May has been re-appointed Dean of the East Deanery for a term of three years.
