NEW ORLEANS – Early registration for the summer programs of the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University is underway.
The Institute is a school of ministry for clergy, religious and laypersons working in the Black community and Catholic Church. Participants are immersed in the unique spiritual and cultural environment of New Orleans and the university, founded by St. Katharine Drexel with the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament.
Session dates this year are June 22 through July 14. The Master's Program offers a three-week course of pastoral theological studies. Certificate and Enrichment courses for Catechists, Youth/Young Adult Ministers, Parish Leaders, Lay Retreat, Elder Retreat and a Liturgical Musician Intensives are held in three one-week modules.
