New Life Counseling is the local crisis pregnancy center which is supported by the Diocese of Lake Charles Office of Pro Life.  New Life Counseling, Inc. is a non-profit, independent, non-political and non-sectarian organization dedicated to reaching out to women with unplanned pregnancies. Since opening the doors in 1984, NLC has helped literally thousands of young women choose life for their babies and a brighter future for themselves. The goal is to assure each woman that she is not alone. NLC offers free pregnancy testing, education to the clients about fetal development, about abortion procedures and their risks, and provide positive alternatives. The volunteer staff is trained to listen and learn about the client’s needs and then to meet those real needs with real solutions. There are a variety of areas of involvement for volunteers to help, such as answering the phone and sorting donations or by being on the prayer team.
