DescriptionPresenter: Fr. Don Piraro The Spiritual Book Club is an informal group of women and men who read a good spiritual book and come together to eat supper and to discuss the selection. The book for August is Walk in a Relaxed Manner, Life Lessons from the Camio by Joyce Rupp. Since the second century, the idea of journey has been a key image for the spiritual life. In the middle ages, when pilgrimages to holy places became popular, that notion of the physical journey is joined to that spiritual image. One of the most popular routes was the Camino De Santiago in northern Spain. After nearly a thousand years of continual use, the American spiritual writer, Joyce Rupp walked the nearly 500 mile path in northern Spain together with her friend, Fr. Tom Pfeffer. Walk in a Relaxed Manner is her account of their pilgrimage and the spiritual wisdom learned. To register, call 337-855-1232. The suggested donation is $12. Venue
